Burton Mystery Late Model Snowboard 158 - 2012
When Burton release their late model series it’s kinda the equivalent of the car shows when the manufacturers display their concept cars with all the stuff they are thinking about for the next couple of years all packed up into one or two crazy creations. This year however, Burton has decided to release the first creation from ‘Craig’s’, Burton’s new prototype development facility named in honour of the late, great Craig Kelly. As you would expect from something carrying such an illustrious name, the first board released from ‘Craig’s’ is something pretty special. The Burton Mystery is the lightest snowboard Burton have ever made making it super responsive and snappy with a surfy feel thanks to the flying V camber profile but with plenty of grip thanks to the stainless frostbite edges. Enigmatic and mysterious much like its inspiration the Mystery is a very limited edition which is a shame as the whole world should be able to get a piece of the future of snowboarding but I guess most of us will just have to wait.
