GNU Altered Genetics Snowboard 162 - 2012
With the Altered Genetics snowboard, GNU have been like a more focused version of Dr. Alphonse Mephesto, instead of mutating monkeys they have mutated trees in their pursuit of the perfect snowboard. GNU have carefully spliced together bamboo, aspen and balsa to create a core that is strong, light and poppy then wrapped it all up in Vectran fibre, which was created for the Mars Lander tyres and is 10 times stronger than titanium, then topped off with a Bio-Plastic topsheet made from renewable beans that is also the toughest in the industry. The Altered Genetics also features the C2BTX profile that has regular camber under the bindings with a rocker profile from the middle of the board, edged with Magne-traction for maximum power, control and grip no matter what the mountain has in store for you. GNU have stepped the inserts back making the Altered Genetics a directional twin, ideal for taking on the backcountry and slashing any pow that comes your way, this is a board for advanced freestyle or freeriders looking for a board that is at home anywhere on the mountain in any conditions, the very definition of a quiver board!
